Police: Poughkeepsie Woman Caught With $10K Worth Of Heroin In Baby Crib

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. --  A Poughkeepsie woman is behind bars after the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team found more than $10,000 worth of heroin hidden in a baby crib during a search of her Thompson Street residence.

The search warrant was served Friday in conjunction with the City of Poughkeepsie Police Neighborhood Recovery Unit, and the NYSP Special Operations Response Team, state police said.

Jada E. Christiani, 22, was arrested after investigators found 35 grams of heroin with a street value of over $10,000, hidden in a baby crib. Investigators also seized over a half-pound of marijuana, numerous marijuana vape cartridges, in addition to scales, packaging equipment, and U. S. currency, state police said.

Christiani was charged with criminal sale and criminal possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child.

She is being held at the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $100,00 cash bail or $200,000 bond.
